DT-MRI (Diffusion Tensor - Magnetic Resonance Imaging) is an advanced medical imaging technique that allows in vivo measuring of location and orientation of nerve fibers in human brain. Water molecules move (diffuse) along nerve fibers, and the diffusion anisotropy can be measured and displayed.

Functional MRI method measures blood oxygen level and thus neuronal activity of the brain. By combining both techniques neural bundles involved in certain activities can be visualized.
