If you live within 30 minutes of an inner city, you want to think about leaving when your local supermarket starts running out of things inexplicably.

Everyone has to make that decision for themselves. I am in a semi rural area but close to a small city. Before I leave, there will have to be rioting in the streets and generalized lawlessness. I am a tank and a half of gas from where I 'want" to be if it gets really bad. Otherwise I am staying put. Refugee is not a class I want associated with me, so if I can stay where I am, I will. But again, I am semi rural and lots of agriculture around me and a long growing season (southeast).

You got to rely on gut feeling. If you go too soon and things don't turn out so bad you can always come back. But if things get bad and you stay too long then you will be caught up in the starvation and anarchy and death. But also you say you believe Jesus. Therefore you know that death is not the end. So if things really get as bad as the end time prophecy says they will. Then you know that the living will end up envying the dead. So we who believe should not hang onto life by doing evil.

You will know it's time to go when: alternative media is silenced; food becomes scarce or unaffordable; fuel is rationed; roaming blackouts begin; shootings increase and military checkpoints restrict travel. Hopefully before: money becomes worthless; riots & roundups begin & curfews are imposed. Unfortunately, not everyone will make it. The more prepared people are, the better everyone's chances. Security is when everyone around you has what they need to survive.

I've wondered this for a while too. I've watched a lot of these type of videos and a SHTF scenerio seems like some far off future event, could it not be here already but it's not so extreme as everyone has feared? My biggest question is concerning remote bug out locations. If you're not already living there 24/7, how do you keep poachers and looters from carrying off your stores?

You could totally be my brother by your look. You weren't concieved in Oklahoma were ya? I'm fairly certain my father strayed.

Those of us thinking ahead, working things out, understanding & facing human nature, we are the ones who are mentally prepared for the reality of SHTF scenarios. Be ready, keep your head low & try not to get yourself killed.

BTW am I the only one that thinks that maybe it would be more

humane (& safer for me & good for the gene pool) to just shoot those who panic?

I think martial law is more of a reality in the event of government collapse, than the 'katrina'-like disaster scenario that most TSHTF people present. You may know 'when' TSHTF, by it may be too dangerous, or forbidden to leave or enter certain areas by that time. Military and para-military groups will have the advantage over the individual in the event of a break-down of civilized order & control. I'm not positive or psychic, look at Iraq when their regime fell? A more likely reality for us 2?
