Ties between Sarah Palin and Alaska Independence Party

So far there are a lot of sketchy ties between Sarah Palin and AIP. But it does appear that her husband was a member.

I imagine with the coming days that we will find out more about her involvement with this extremist group.

AIP's Motto

Alaska First Alaska Always

According to their site in regards to if they were to gain their independence from the states:

Depending on the form of independence, several forms of citizenship would be possible, including the retention of U.S. citizenship or dual citizenship. However, considering the moral, educational, and economic decay of the U.S., Alaskans' who hold themselves to a higher standard might very well decide to at least maintain an arm's length distance from a country in decline.

They also state in regards to out lower standards military:

The strategic location of Alaska would indicate that it would serve U.S. interests to maintain a presence in Alaska. The military are good neighbors. There would be no compelling reason for the military to leave Alaska.

Keep in mind that their party only makes up 7% of the voting populous of Alaska so they do not have enough power to gain independence from the lower standards of the other 49 states.

  • The AIP chair has since apologized and clarified that Gov. Palin has NEVER been a member of their party.

    More Demorat lies ;)

  • umm no it was the AIP that said she was, and then they say she wasn't. Btw I am not a memeber of either party. As such all the facts are not present still. For some bizzare reasons republicans and democrats feel any investigation for facts is an attempt at slander.

  • Watch the video yourself... Palin is for smaller federal and state government, much like all "traditional" republicans. I think you need to do some more research. I don't think you understand what you're posting here. She is clearly not for the succesion of Alaska.

  • Yes, she does supports AIP. This party is a separatist group. The party chairman stated she was a member prior to becoming mayor of walaloosee, Alaska. She scares the heck out of me. If she becomes the VP....she will have McCain knocked -off and with her new found power as the pres of the U.S., she will gladly give Alaska its indendence from the U.S. Thus, trashing our constitution again. Then she will lead us into another propaganda - armageddon style holy war against Islam.

  • AIP only makes up 7% of the Alaskan vote, which clearly means they have no power, even if Palin comes into power. There is a real problem with her patriotism. My concerns with her being in power are not the lose of Alaska but rather we should have someone with ties to U.S. hating organization. As well as Energy Policy, Economy, and Envirometa Policy. She clearly does not have a good enviromental record, and she shows no signs of wanting to end American dependence on oil.

  • Actually its not clear from the video. Which is why this should be adressed. Despite registering republican she can still support AIP, and clearly they like her from other AIP videos. It is clear her husband was a member.

  • I'm deeply troubled by the msm's LACK OF CONSISTENCY when it comes to reporting on REAL issues.

*remember the weeks of continuous Rev. Wright coverage?*

Yet - in light of this significant development - NOTHING!!

    1. Gov. Palin says "good luck on a successful & inspiring convention" to a party looking to secede from America. If this were a Obama or his wife - they'd immediately be labeled traitors.

    2. Palin's husband was a registered member of this party for 7 YEARS!

    who is covering this?

  • oh no thats why she says keep up the good work to a bunch of separatists dumbass

  • The word is "Secession"

  • Anyone in favor of seccesion is a friend of mine. I am tired of being a slave to the corrupt evils of washington, dc, the slime pit, the open sewer, the cess poll of the world.

  • sEcessionist, not sUcessionist.

  • Well on the plus side, she will probably try to get Alaska to seceed should she becomes vp. Then if something would happen to Senator McCain, she would try to assume the role of president only to find that she is no longer a United State citizen, but an Alaskan one instead. Sounds like the type of dumb thing that she would try to do.

  • Yeah, I've known she was an anti-American secessionist for a long time. Her and Todd both. I don't think McCain knew this. She wasn't vetted properly. She's dangerous and as unAmerican as it gets. She just wants our money.

She and Todd were members of AKIP twice as I understand it. I know Todd was a member for about 8 years. The founder, Joe Voegler was probably a terrorist.

  • They misspelled Secessionist.

And I wonder what that single blue star behind her inflated head represents. Hmmmm....

  • Sarah Palin is a commie.

    Treason

  • fucking traitor

  • Dexter Clark, Vice Chairman of the AIP says:

"Our current governor the one we were hoping would get elected, SARAH PALIN, did get elected. And there was a lot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP MEMBER before she got the job as a mayor of a small town- that was a non-partisan job. But you get along to go along-she eventually joined the Republican Party, where she had all kinds of problems with their ethics.. and she is pretty well sympathetic to her former membership."
