Prisoner of Perception

Most of us are held captive by beliefs, about ourselves and the world around us, that are fabricated. We perceive life in accordance with a belief structure that is not inherently true, we simply believe it to be true, and so it is. Our liberation lies in our ability to perceive more and conceive of more. The boundaries of our potential are limitless; we are simply conditioned to believe in limitation. @malikilam I would say that THAT is one of the really beautiful things about rationality, its flexibility. I think the problem of rigidity arises when a person gets stuck in using ONLY rationality and/or perhaps ONLY using one type of rationality. There are rational means to recognize that rationality is not anything to which we are beholden or (depending on who you are talking to) the tool to be prioritized most.

A harmony of all perspectives and approaches (tools) seems the highest and best

I feel that the ideas being shared are quite resonant with my perspective, BUT I also feel the need to point out that the speaker is undertaking an action that seems to undermine his point. That is to say, he is using rational communication as a means of trying to breakdown the limitations that he says rationality perpetuates.

I think a better formulation would be to say that rationality CAN be used in a limiting way, but it CAN ALSO be used in an expansive way, even expansion beyond itself.
