Vegan vs. Meat Eater - Steven Rinella

As a hunter, the question comes up all the time: how can I justify the killing of animals for food? My reply varies according to the circumstances, particularly to whether or not the person is actually willing to hear my response. Recently, I was posed this question while promoting my new book, Meat Eater: Adventures from the Life of an American Hunter, at a Greenlight Bookstore event in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. I'm a recent vegan convert, but I'd way rather see guys like Rinella hunt for food than see someone consume farmed meat/products. I recommend anyone and everyone to watch (available on youtube) 'Earthlings'. Farming is fucked up, period. At least with hunting, it's far more humane, plus has anyone watched lions, tigers, crocodiles etc kill other creatures? It's fucking drawn out and nasty. At least with a bullet they're dead almost instantly. I'd rather everyone eat plants but wont happen.

I think hunting for meat to eat is okay, but hunting for sport or just for the hell of it is wrong.

you care about deers so much you kill them lol ,, well that makes sense, and you know about deer more than others,, so ? whats your point you still shoot and murder them. whats to know other than you just took a life. hunting, you do justify that in a way thats seems backwards, bit like saying theres always been wars so its ok to carry on...

You're just mad. What a bitter person you are. This Vegan is so concerned about innocent life being "hunted," in the womb, there is no where to run. And you calling me or anyone "fanboy" just shows your weak debate skills. Rinella has hunted for a long time before having a TV show. If you don't like hunting or Rinella, great! Be gone with ye!

Nice to hear from someone who can present an honest and respectful perspective on the ethics of hunting and consuming animals. Ted Nugent could learn a lot from Steve Rinella.
