If you have an iPhone 3G you should be able to downgrade to 3.1.2 by downloading or finding your 3.1.2 firmware. Open iTunes and hold down "Shift" and click on Restore (if your on a mac it's "Option" then Restore) and select your old firmware.

If you have an iPhone 3GS its a little more trickier then that and would only work if you had your SHSH backed up via Cydia.

You will need to edit your hosts file located here - C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts (Windows) or /etc/hosts (Mac OS X) and add 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com to the bottom.

Now, when iTunes thinks it is talking to Apple, it is talking to Cydia instead. Doing this will allow iTunes to access signatures already stored by Cydia's "on file" feature...

  • thanks for this Video my solution

Look at my chanal brand new cydia apps

    ;)

  • how do you do this on a mac?

  • @YokieWartooth Run as administrator.

  • @steelste Aaaah, that clears a lot of things up. Thank you so much for all the information. But what IP is 127.0.0.1 for? It's not a specific IP is it? It's like a loop or something like that as far as I know, I'm terrible with this kid of stuff. But anyways, thanks for the information!

  • @dannywithnoodles And as for adding an entry to the host file, just do a little research on the IP address you enter and who the IP Address belongs to (Cydia, redsn0w, ect)

  • @dannywithnoodles Removing something from your host file is not a big deal, you can save a backup copy of it by just using "save as" in notepad. As for removing the gs.apple entry, it will only remove the apply verification server from your host list (Meaning when it tries to verify with apple, it will not actually try to talk to them), it will not do anything to your system in terms of malware.
