The side to side pull ups isometrically work the lats, but also help to build up the shoulder stability. There is also a ton of stress placed on the forearm, bicep and tricep.

Question: I have seen some people do these like pull ups, descending and then pulling up to one the left or right and then sliding across to the opposite side of the bar; you stayed mid-air and slid from side-to-side. Which method is best? My guess would be that the way yo did it would hit harder, since you have to keep yourself in the air while you slide from side to side.
@rmsolympic1 Each method has its pros and cons. I guess it would depend on the person. So try both and decide which one is harder. As long as your having fun, that's all that matters.
