Compare this to the simplistic drivel that's on country radio today.

After reading comments saying that Sheryl Crow does this better I thought I better have a look for myself. Sorry guys but I don't think her version is a patch on the Chicks , not nearly as strong vocally and it takes about 8 fiddles to produce what Martie and the other girl play. I'll step back and await a slatting now :-)

Who is the other fiddle player with Martie ?

Hmm have to say...sucks...Have folloswed this girls since the beginning, this really sucks ..and since I like to provoke hahaha...the lead singer probably needs a wheel-chair to move across the stage soon hahha

I'll be back in a sec...gotta puke !!

I love the Dixie Chicks but they stole this version from Sheryl Crow- she did it better. And who did it better than both? Bob Dylan. Check them out.

Well I am sorry, but this version is a pumping, souless and probably commercially viable version of a great Dylan song. Well done girls, money in the bank, but where did the feeling of the song go in the process? It's hard to explain, this version rips along, great number for the set, but somehow you don't believe what they're singing. They are singing a song but they weren't there, were they? Dylan sings it. Maybe he wasn't there either but it sure sounds like he was. There is a difference

Your analysis of The Dixie Chick's version is completely nutty.
And I completely agree!
Even a "soulless" cover of a Dylan song done competently as the Chicks do here is still better than 99% of the new music of the last 20 years.
I simply hope that this clip will help introduce Dylan either to young people, country-western music listeners, and/or MILF fans.
The more the merrier!
