  • @PinkFloydFan74 Damn youtube needs an edit button, sorry. HotSpot Shield should be substantial, just depends on how concerned you are?

  • @PinkFloydFan74 It depends on if it connects you to an anonymous or transparent proxy. If it's transparent, then no... :D

  • @hackgamesUK So would you suggest we don't use Hotspot Shield then?

  • buts

  • The difference with Proxy and VPN is that the first only hides someones ip the second encrypts the connection. For example you are in a coffee shop with free wifi.

someone connected in that network can sniff packets.

that means the proxy case will say something like:

the xxx (wrong IP) has used on this site this username and password

for the VPN those actions are encrypted.

Where is the catch? The VPN provider can also sniff packets and many free ones are suspects of data mining.

  • How iw the VPN different from a proxy?

  • I'm not trying to put him down... but he is teaching things that are incorrect. A proxy server does not 'hide you behind an IP address', it forwards your requests for you, if transparent your address is sent clearly. It's not a bad video, I would just recommend you touch up on your terminology a tad :) Keep up the good work

  • Thanks i didnt know what a vpn is can you set up on an ipod?

  • it was nice but a very slow vid better luck nex time
