Girl w Bike Shoved and Arrested by Police during G20 in Pittsburgh 9/25/09

Live on Pittsburgh WPXI Channel 11 News 9/25/09. Police are shoving a crowd of bicyclists, walking their bikes, when one woman cannot take it anymore, throws her bicycle at a policeman and he thrashes his club at her throat and another policeman throws her to the ground.

In my opinion, a little harsh treatment to a woman by Pittsburgh Police. She was arrested.

thats a little to much the officer getting a good wack at her face come on dude your a grown ass man! shes got nothing then can hurt you but yet you beat her down as if she just killed someone! and then u see the officer shoving the dud on the bike! like really! hes was complying and moving along he cnt go any faster because he has a crowed in front of him! if you push someone wht the hell do you expect back respect! your public servants and your also in the public eye!

Those cops should be fucking shot. I can't stand their over aggressive additude. Most cops today don't give a fuck about anything but their own needs. They should change "serve and protect" to "intimidate and overpower". Fuck them and fuck all the idiots that support this type of behavior. They are loosers in life and just want to be a part of something so they take orders MINDLESSLY.

@vada2000 Unfortunately the cops would do that. But they are too nice to actually break the law. That's why they are trying to comply with law and keep moving on side walks. But I too think that is the wrong tactic. I think they should all cross arms or chain themselves together and lay down all across the streets and really occupy the place at least for a while (not too long, people have to pee, that would be unsightly). Then disperse, and repeat some other place.

@TheBooban but if marshal law is declared what happens next. a new civil war? if people used the civil rights protest as a template with todays ability to put it out for the world to see things will change pretty quick. not a decade but in a couple of years.the girl in this video for example. if she had just dropped to the ground instead of hitting the cop what could he have done? arrest her? then he is a bully. hit her? then he is blatantly brutalizing her. win for the protesters that way

@vada2000 Neah. People don't want to suffer like the blacks and Indians did for a hundred years. They want the injustice ended now so they can enjoy it and not just their grand kids.

Riots will bring news to their message. Whether its good news or bad, doesn't matter. Bonus is the police abuse angle, the political message is being overshadowed by police brutality which most people didn't know about.

Militancy is the next stage, and this cop who whacked this protester is one of the reasons.

@TheBooban what would riots accomplish? nothing at all. if the protesters got some kind of leadership to list all their grievances and took after the civil rights protesters they would accomplish what they want without any violence on their part. if they did that it would make the government look even worse and more people would come to their cause just like in the 60's. truly stop and think about it.

@vada2000 Sure you can complain, you just keep saying people can't do this, cant do that. They can! Neither do they have to be as polite. Its better that they are, but not all generations have a Ghandi or King. Most of these protesters have been nice, they have been complying and not resisting. You pay more attention to their behavior than the cops. Americans should be happy with the nice protesters. Because it won't be nice for long. There will soon be riots. Not saying its good, just saying.

@TheBooban well if you want to be like ghandi and rosa parks you cant complain when you get pepper sprayed and hit with rubber bullets. i understand what they went through and why. these protesters are not the same. ghandi did not destroy property and antagonize the police. rosa parks was arrested but did not put up a struggle. civil rights leaders did march but kept everyone in line( even though cops then were racist and very brutal)

@vada2000 I can't believe I'm trying to give you a lesson in democracy. This is civil disobedience, this is agitation, yelling, shouting, cussing and failing to comply with orders. This is how to practice your democratic rights and ensure you keep them. Just like Ghandi did no matter how he was beat up, just like Rosa Parks did when she sat somewhere she wasn't supposed to. This pisses off the authority to no end, and pisses off people who don't understand democracy. Cops need to get used to it.

@TheBooban like i said some cops do trip out but no amount of training can over come simple human emotions. screaming derogatory things at an officer and dragging feet to take as long as you can is frustrating especially for someone who is in a place where they dont want to be.what is the harm in getting out the way peacefully? why cuss someone out? why attack them when they want you to simply get out of traffic for your safety as well as others?

@vada2000 But they do move. As you can see even in this, vid they move! But not 'fast' enough. The lady threw her bike harmlessly at him, after getting whacked herself. Cops are normally trained to tolerate this. But this one cop flips out and smacks her in the side of the head with a baton! He can easily arrest her without whacking her! What he did was _more_ illegal than what she did! If it happened anywhere else in the world, the cops would've been swamped and beat up by the others.
