Preparations are in full swing in 'Siraj Bagh', a renowned tulip garden that overlooks Dal Lake at the foothills of the famous Zabarwan hills in Indian Kashmir.
14 new tulip varieties have been added to the garden.
[Abdul Hameed, Gardener]:
"The popularity of the garden has increased so much - it receives foreign and domestic tourists. People demand that the garden is kept open year round."
Other flowers were also introduced to make it an all season garden.
[Javaid Ahmad Shah, Gardener]:
"We are creating an all weather garden, those who come here will see other flowers apart from tulips. We have introduced new patterns and designs in the garden."
During the tulip season, the garden is a feast for the eyes with 60 varieties of early, mid, late and very late blooming tulips that looks like a rainbow.
Tulips are in full bloom in the month of April.
