This is complete footage of Secretariat's last race at Woodbine Racetrack, Canada. It is the Canadian International, 1973.

I'm with you on all those points, and I don't understand why people to this day try to say Maple whipped him, when all he did was EXACTLY what Turcotte did with his stick at the end of both the Marlboro Cup and the Man o' War Stakes - he just flashed the whip in front of his right eye to remind him to finish off the race, that's all. Nothing wrong with it when Turcotte did it, so why the hell would there be when Maple did it? Total nonsense.

@Tazzy5 Well said, I agree - Sec was a better athlete/strategist than Maple - It's a shame R turcotte couldn't run Sec in this final race; it would have been a stellar ending. Turcotte & Secretariat understood each other - A Great Team!

Ron Turcotte would have let him run through the finish, and the margin of victory would have been around 10 lengths. Eddie Maple eased him.
