Sak Yant is Khmer Sanskrit.

Sak is Khmer means to tap or to print or to tattoo.
"Yant" is Sanskrit short word of "Yantra". Yantras are geometrical symbolic representing of the Khmer spelling powerful which written in Khmer round letters Aksar Moul. Khmer Aksar Mouls are sacred letters.
A part of Sak Yant written with Khmer Aksar Moul, Khmer people use Aksar Mouls to write on banners for events, for ceremonies, write on signs for schools, for government building, for temples, for houses, for business etc..

Maha Eisei, Brahmin Priest, Buddhist Monk, Lok Achar are the master of Khmer Sak Yant.
The masters compose Khmer Yant with the Khmer numerals, Khmer Aksoul Moul, Khmer sub vowels and use the holy stick made from bamboo or wood, black ink, Yant Tissue in red, yellow, silver and white colors and Sak (Tap) Yant (Tattoo) on tissue, on body, on belt, on silver or on gold.

Khmer people wear Khmer Yant Mant Akam to protect themselves unlike the westerner wearing Yant (Tattoo) for decoration.

1:48 Mahasondom: To become very brave and scare the enemy or aggressor who stand right in front to get away immediately.

1:58 Mahaneyum: To make as handkerchief to keep it in pocket, to make on the silver or gold card to protect from being hated from others and make people to love always.

2:05 2:11 2:20 2:30 are all the same name Pyataoleoun: To be buried in Chedei, in village, in temple gate. Make aggressor stay out of the property.

2:48 Sethipol: To roll in Katha and wear 2 as necklace bringing serei soursdei and win all enemy.

2:56 the same as 2:48

3:06 Tveasarsei or Maha Prayoth: To make as flag and carry to in to the battle field to protect the army.

3:13 MahaAthan: To hang on the house door, the temple door..stop all the bad coming in from outside.

3:22 Tongchei: To make as flag and hang in the front house of justice to make the bad people afraid.

3:31 Mahasondom: The same as 1:48

Each Yant must associate with Keatha and the believer must respect the Yant rule otherwise Yant is not powerful.

  • This is very good yantra, Thank you Khmercillization, But Cant really read the name of some of the Yantra, May if you could put text for each of the yantra's name and want it usefull for.

    I just post explanation of each Yant. I tried my best because it takes 2 or 3 pages to explain each Yant from the book.

  • ive talked to a lot of khmer citizens while i was cambodia for a year and pretty much everything ancient even the culture in thailand was all from cambodia...we needs to get all that shit back..oh yeah muay thai is origianlly khmer too..im tired of the thai people getting all the damn credit for all our peoples treasures and culture

  • Khmer Sak Yant is also very popular in Thailand, check it on Sak Yant Website in Thailand, it also gives the credit to ancient Khmer who invented it.

    Moreover, the monks who do this kind of tattoo in Thailand are all from Cambodia.

    You can ask Khmer soldiers they can tell you especially Khmer soldiers at Preah Vihear.

    There is also a tattoo shop in Sihanouk Ville but not sure if they make Sak Yant Tattoo.

  • @slimturnpike - The Khmer Monks are still making Sak Yant these days in Cambodia and just making more than 1000 Sak Yant on handkerchiefs for Khmer soldiers to protect themselves.
