A common early spring wildflower throughout the NW in conifer forests. It flowers right after the snow melts, and can be spectacular en mass.
It is a member of the Liliaceae or Lily family. The common character of Liliaceae's is that they have 6 tepals- which are the petals and sepals modified to be so similar to each other that they are not distinguishable from each other.
