I'm here because of 120 Minutes on MTV back in the late 80's. MTV used to be a window into the world of the unknown to us kids from rural America back then. If you lived in a small community, devoid of culture in any sense, you found anyone wanting to escape the status quo searching for these windows. Mine was 120 Minutes. That brought me to The Lemonheads. Lemonheads to Mudhoney. Mudhoney to Nirvana. Nirvana to The Pixies. The Pixies to Sugar. Sugar to Bob. Bob to Husker Du.

I'm 22 and I barely saw any of the 80s and didn't have a chance to experience the 80s college rock scene as well but I love bands like the Pixies, Husker Du, and Dinosaur Jr.
