NEW YORK -- January 13, 2009 -- 140 East 45th Street is the temporary home of the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. It has been the site of protests and civil disobedience in recent years as activists attempt to reach their government. On Tuesday, January 13, activists assembled to light candles for the fallen of Gaza. Organizer Judith LeBlanc told NLN's Tom Good that she counted 225 vigilers - and that organizers had given out 150 candles. The message was clear: end US support for the Israeli aggression in Gaza.
