Great sound but the guy talking in the background doesn't know his stuff. You NEVER hear a sonic boom during a shuttle launch, ever. And the throttle back he mentions 3 times happens 30 seconds in, throttle up happens about 60 seconds in.

This is a very good video, well captured.

I understand that every pop you hear from the engines is the exhaust leaving the engine at supersonic speed, hence thay are all sonic booms. But that is not what this guy was talking about.

@AtlantisB737 Thank you :) I wish it wasn't so darn windy! It was a perfect weekend. No delays, no scrubs. Whew!

@englishguy2005 it does arc...as it pitches for optimum climb angle and orbit insertion. Beautiful VID !!!

This was beautiful! I love how the shuttle SEEMS to arc in the sky and head back down.

Oh ok thanks for letting me know. I asked because i was looking at cameras to purchase because i am going to this weekend's STS-127 launch. I just wanted to figure out the right amount of optical zoom. And yes that does suck that youtube does that.
Hey just wondering...which Sony Cybershot camera did you use?

Sony Cybershot DSC-T200/B which is discontinued, replaced by T300.. last I checked. (I had that up already, but dumb YouTube makes you hit 'more info'. I hate that.. wish they would just show the whole thing.)

Any advice on getting tickets for the causeway? I hear they sell out fast.

I got mine through Florida Dolphin Tours, which was perfect for me since I flew into Orlando, and the ticket included the roundtrip transportation to NASA from Orlando. I bought them after they were sold out at NASA. Check them out.
