@AppleJacks01 It's a 3.0L Duratec out of an 05 Ford Taurus, it's a nice difference in power. Bumps it up from 140whp (170bhp) to about 190-220whp( 230-250bhp). Guys are doing the 1/4 mile in the high 13's low 14's with these motors in their Cougar. I just need this snow to finally stop so I can get some video up!

Put up new vids when you get a chance! What engine did you put in?

@AppleJacks01 Thanks! I need to make a new video, I swapped out the 2.5L for a 3L and now I have headers and a high flow Y-pipe. I just got to wait for this damn weather to clear up!!

How does your speedometer go to 240? I have the V6 sports package (front rear disc and no governor at 110) and it only goes up to 150.

@99MCougar that defintiely puts things in to perspective.. I still don't see how you managed to get the acceleration THAT quick... I have ceramic powder coated headers with MIL eliminators on the downstream, 10.2mm plug wires, NGK Iridium IX plugs gapped at .052, a cold-air intake by K&N, custom piping, cut out some of the chassis to fit it behind the driver's side foglight above the splashguard. I don't get ANY kind of balls like you got here. shoot me an e-mail at digimessiah@gmail.com please.

@SolarTopaz Hey there, your IMRC might be stuck closed that will kill 30hp. Log onto new cougar . com and do some searching on there. It may help you figure out your problem. This video was done with a SRI and a catback with a test pipe. Once I got headers, and ay-pipe the thing ripped. I'm BlackBetty on NewCougar.

I thought it was the Duratec haha. So your transmission bolted right up to the new engine? That's pretty cool. Do you plan on doing any more modifications?
AppleJacks01 11 months ago
@AppleJacks01 Yup it bolted right up, there are a few minor modifications are needed but it's fairly basic. I have every bolt on available so the next step is either Turbo/N02 which I don't think I'll be doing. I have pretty much finished all my suspension as well, I just need to install some tubular control arms and beefier front sway bar endlinks.
