That's gotta be the noisiest diesel engine I've ever heard.

yep hit the nail on the head. the alloy heads work great under boost as there are enough head bolts. and the cast heads weight 56 pounds each (ouch)

I believ the fwd 4.3 had alloy heads and cast iron block and the 4.3 rwd had iron heads and block which were more reliable, they also made a v8 4.3 diesel aswell as a 4.3 v6!

oh sorry i link here though the 4.3 which is rater reliable.
if the main caps are drill out and the block tapped deeper for big bolts, along with an ARP head stud kit the 5.7 becomes very strong.

Thisd is a 5.7 I believe, do u mean knowing the right folk makes the 5.7 relieble etc?

soem reading and knowing a few people the head gaskets are just fine not like the 5.7's. i know a guy that has his boosted and he just added roller rockers

when automatics wheelspin does the transmission change up gears, then u get grip, then it changes down againe and repeat over and over again?
Only ever driven an automatic once, for a short distance.

Thanks, I haven't touched the pump, It was brand new when I got it so /i guess you could turn it up but then maybe it might go Bang!!
