  • This is a wonderful, moving piece, and this performance does to me just what it should do. So nice to hear it played with so much feeling. Great intonation, dynamics and choice of tempos. Excellent job everyone.

  • Next to the two suites by Holst, this must be the most frequently performed piece for wind band. Not only that, it's so influential that most modern compositions for band are written in this style and only this style. William Schuman's name is not widely known, but he was highly influential, and he changed the sound of band music as much as Stravinsky changed the sound of orchestral music.

  • My high school band played this last year at Carnegie Hall. Amazing piece, amazing composer, amazing band. Great job ladies and gents.

  • @Thunderossa sounded a bit thin though

  • Very good performance of a difficult piece. Although not technically difficult, individual intonation can destroy this piece as can bad acoustics, which is not a problem in this performance. Great job.

  • One of the few good performances i've seen of this piece.

  • Always a favorite. William Schuman is one of my favorites.
