This seemed so familiar to me, but the thing is I live in Australia. It turns out channel7 here uses the exact same theme song.

@phantomlord54 sad but true, its all about money and media control. He didn't had any chance to become so famous without media imperialism like we have today in all over the world. But composition is too good to be attached to any commercial staff not to mention stupid news colored with political influences or blood money.

I hate it how they thought that this song was a joke at the beginning! It really is a good song. Too many people tie it to the NBC program but if you just listen to it you can here how it ties to much more than that stupid news program.

Well, before they started playing, John Williams said that they were going to play this song since we were all missing the evening news that night. He didn't mention what song they were going to play, so that's why people were laughing when the song started.
