3 Aug 1992 - (Continuing from 31 Jul 1992) In the morning, Ross and Blake are still unable to resist each other. Suddenly, Holly arrives to surprise Ross with breakfast in bed. Ross and Blake are just as stunned as Holly, when they see each other. Quickly putting his pants on, a worried Ross stops Holly from leaving in her shocked condition. Holly explains why she's there, and Ross insists that he and Blake never meant to hurt her. Holly feels used by both of them, but Ross won't let her leave until she hears his side of the story. Ross explains that he didn't see Blake as Holly's daughter, but rather as another lonely, single, consenting adult who was interested in him. Holly and Ross have differing views of their "date" the previous night. Holly reminds Ross that he said he couldn't get involved with anyone during his campaign, and Ross' technical answer further infuriates Holly. Ross reminds Holly that they had no commitments and he never promised her anything, but Holly thinks he let her assume that something was there between them. Ross is offended when Holly implies that he used their friendship for his campaign. Holly demands to know why Ross chose Blake instead of her. Still just watching and listening, Blake looks incredulous when Ross explains his surprise that she was even interested in him. Ross keeps the exact details of the affair from Holly, telling her that the affair couldn't last and so he didn't think he had to tell her about it. Blake doesn't agree with Ross' claim that they were over, but Ross wants her to stay quiet. Blake can't believe Ross' change in attitude and demands that he tell Holly how much he wanted her. Blake is upset that Ross is ignoring her feelings again to save his own image. Against Ross' wishes, Blake lays out the details of the affair to Holly and then kisses Ross to prove to Holly that Ross is no longer hers. Ross thinks that Blake is being cruel, but Blake accuses him of the same thing and runs out. When Ross tries to go after her, Holly stops him with a slap.

  • It's not playing for me! It's showing video not available, is that happening to anyone else?

  • It loaded just now for me. I had this problem a few weeks ago, where no video anywhere on youtube would play. I think the suggested advice is to refresh the page or your browser.

  • This is an awesome scene. Perfectly played by all involved. My heart breaks for Blake when she says, "It is to me!" Wow!

HOwever, After the first commercial break, every time I see Ross standing in front of the door, I think, "He got his pants on pretty fast, didn't her?"

  • Now that's what you call drama!!! I don't know what I liked best in this scene Ross shirtless looking so fine or Ross's tears those were tears saw on Ross's face right??!! Holly's reaction , Holly slapping Ross or Ross trying to explain himself damn this is good stuff!!!!

  • All three actors are so great in this. Maureen Garett especially.

  • @KassidyKatherine

I would also agree 100%. And at 00:57 to 00:59 with Ross standing by the dresser with no shirt on.....OMG. I would have ditched every suit and tie in his closet so he would have to wear faded jeans and no shirt for all of his scenes with Blake. Make the female population a lot happier.....=+)

  • one of my favorite lines of all time!!! Holly: "What kind of daughter are you?" Blake: "The kind you raised." (with a deadpan expression btw!)

  • @Oakdalian I agree 100%. 1992 into 1993 GL was fantastic. I wish it was still that way...that is what got me hooked on soaps at age 8.

As for the acting, fantastic...Maureen definitely made me feel for Holly and Sherry definitely upplayed the fact that Blake is pure Thorpe.

  • Maureen Garrett is just great here.

  • The music, the camera work, Maureen Garrett dropping the tray, THAT is how you open a show! One of soaps' best surprise revelations ever. GL was exquisite in 1992. How did P&G screw up their shows?!
