Communist regimes around the Globe are responsible for a greater number of deaths than any other political ideal or movement, including Nazism (death toll totals more than 94 million people). In the USSR alone communists killed more than 20 million people. Despite that Western world refuse to accept the fact that their Allie, the Soviet Union in fact committed war crimes and genocide even larger in scale than that of Nazi regime.

Communism - the extraordinary social experiment promising equality and freedom swept from Russia around the world. In the early days hopes were high, but in the end the story of Communism is one of grim realities. Listen as people from behind the Iron Curtain tell how their lives were affected by this new world order, from the storming of the Winter Palace in Tzarist Russia in 1917 to the swift implosion of communist regimes around the world in the 1980s.

@genrail1 You're looking at it from your modern perspective, friend. You have to put yourself in their shoes and think what an exciting time it was for them: that people truly believed a utopia could be built on earth, that they were an integral part of it, and that Stalin was the helmsman leading them to this land. Such opinions die hard--and it's understandable why, even with the revelation of mass-killings. Later on, the Soviet Union symbolized stability, something severely lacking today.

@theprophetagp Communism is the complete opposite of social Darwinism. Social Darwinism is shown in the Industrial Revolution in America. The leaders of Industrialized capitalism were outspoken social Darwinism. Now in a philosophical sense of evolution of a society yes you could say that. But it wouldn't be far to say it's Social Darwinism as that would imply the social structure is based on Natural Selection.
