  • Arround the age of 25 von Braun was the boss of the rocketsite at Peenemünde, no matter how smart you are at school these days no matter how royal your familyname is from wich you born with, to get that position at that age nowadays is totally impossible.

You would be called crazy just like many called von Braun back then, but today you would only be called crazy and you woundt get a rockettestsite.

He only managed it thanks to the Nazi's becaus under the Weimar republic he would never got it.

  • @Tiberiusduck So what was he supposed to do? Say no and get a knock on his door by the SS the next day? Von Braun simply served his country at the time. He had no choice but to go along with the ethics of the nazis. Saying no to the war or the politics of the time simply was not an option.

  • He should have been hung in 1945. He was the worst kind of war criminal.

  • All Contemporary critics , no greater than our middling mass of the ever-present P.C. Sheeple . Ever-so conforming , ever-so laughable ,

while led along , by political Lords . LOL lads&lassies .

  • Of course Wernher Von Braun the "NAZI S.S.OFFICER" knew exactly where his rockrets were going to land. He wasn't stupid. He just didn't care. That bastard would have sacrificed his own mother if it would have furthered his career. Boy, what a great hero, ....... from HELL !!!

  • It's sad that von Braun's passion for designing rockets was responsible for many people's deaths. Apparently he saw no connection on his part. Regarding his rocket that hit London on September 7, 1944, he was quoted as saying, "The rocket worked perfectly except for landing on the wrong planet". He described it as his "darkest day".

  • Von Braun is does is not in his intention, to kill lives. He was just so obsessed with his rockets. His contribution to the V2 was just incidental to his amibtion of launching human into space.

it was realizes when he was in america.

his dream of sending people to the moon was successful. When kennedy was killed, his ambitons crushed. Had succeeding presidents suported him, a man on mars could have been possible.

  • I tried to point it more that he got it thanks to the Nazi's... and only thanks to that!!

When the Weimar republic stayed they would "never" invested in something like this, cause like you said yourself they hardly knew what a rocket was.

Not to forget millions lived poor (very poor) for years allready back then, so compare that with von Braun's ideas in those days...

Gates or Jobs today live in very diffrent times wich cannot be compared with those times at all...

  • i think he could reach that position because at that time people didnt really know about rockets. its like steve jobs or bill gates. they wherere very young when they stared to revoloutionize the use of computers. its because the older people didnt have any idear about that. but try now to be a boss of a softwarecompany in the age of 20 something.

  • soooo true
