Sami Salo of the Vancouver Canucks gets hit in the midsection while blocking a shot. Salo left the game on a stretcher and was taken to the local hospital. Vancouver Canucks @ Chicago Blackhawks Game 5. May 9th, 2010

TSN reports that the injury is a "ruptured testicle." Those are two words that should never be next to one another. Gentlemen, let us wince and groan for our fellow man.

Update on Sami Salo: It has been confirmed that Salo does NOT have a ruptured testicle, its just very swollen. Salo has been listed as day-to-day on the Canucks injury list.
