If you notice their emergency "dispensation" is also missing from the window of the car...

Boo-fucking hoo dude, those are OUR taxes the council are pissing away... and Lambeth have, after my "direct action" reduced occupants of car from 2 to 1, well that's what they said in a letter to me....

The dispensation is right there on the windscreen, clearly visible on the passenger side, what do you mean "missing from the window of the car"??? Have a look from 2mins 55 secs in.

You may have or haven't got a letter from the Council re: reducing the occupants of the car but I can assure you that this move was on the cards for a while due to cost cutting exercises and not as a knee jerk reaction to complaints that they have received for many years now regarding the Smart Car operation.

I can personally vouch for ALL of the staff that you will come across on Greyhound Lane and Parking Services in general as they are all brilliant, intelligent, insightful and wonderful people who are just trying to get by and pay their bills and provide for themselves and their families. BTW the lady waved not just cause you asked her to but also because she is actually a very friendly and jovial person. She may have done it anyway, I've seen her do it before.

You've probably worked it out by now that I used to do that job and I've worked on Greyhound Lane and the sort of things that have been inflicted on myself and my colleagues (especially from the 5 yard heroes) would turn your head.

The Smart Cars are very highly visible and clearly marked to allow the public to become aware of the cars presence, the Council is not allowed to film anyone or anything covertly and the occupants are uniformed officers so surely it would be logical to assume that the car would be parked legally and responsibly as the public are always going to monitoring and complaining just as you have.

Further more you have talk of your disgust seeing workers with newspapers. I appreciate this isn't ideal however I would challenge anyone to do that job for a while and experience the treatment these guys get just for doing their job. The point I'm making is that in certain areas it isn't safe to leave the vehicle due to history of abuse and attacks, Greyhound Lane included. They have to take breaks in the car. I'm not suggesting that you personally have abused the workers in any way.

I watched this video and another regarding the Lambeth Smart cars parking "illegally" on double yellow lines however I must clarify a very important and little known fact. The Council (and others) have a dispensation which allows their Council vehicles to park on single / double yellow lines, pay and display bays and resident parking bays when they are carrying out their duties and responsibilities as granted by Central Government, they are not breaking the law.
