My daughter, up to 10, had a bad fear about butterflies--but she'd grab the nearest amphibian/reptile you had. One day we went to a botanical garden and they had a live butterfly event. She waited outside--and then a monarch butterfly landed on her head. We didn't say anything. She looked up,saw it, stifled a scream, and just stood there for about 30 minutes. People passed her, made comments about the butterfly on her head and how cute. Was her turning point. Now, she thinks they're beautiful.

What, she's scared because a butterfly flew in her shirt?... When I was younger, I was in vacation in florida, and at the motel, I was in my swimming suit and a lizard went in my swimming suit... Guess what, I didn't get scared, I found that funny.
