Sitting on a carriage from iron and wood, you can experience with material reins from leather, how you must deal with horses, so that these move your carriage by the landscape. The commands, which give you to the horses over the reins, are shared to the reality and require you some at fate and perseverance off.




The landscape by you your carriage to steer know, the weststeirischen hill landscape one had a feeling for and offers beside some ways, hills and brooks likewise a typical farmhouse of the region.

Sometimes you find the strangest and most unusual projects! Today I was looking at the website of my old friend Alexander Nischelwitzer who I met in Austria several years ago. We oftern meet up and talk about the future of interactivity, and of new projects and fun things to do. Like me, he loves to make wild and wacky projects that have a serious side.

I was so pleased to find his concept of a 3D carriage simulator! This is awesome!

It has a full false carrage, and a set of reigns, and you explore the town in virtual 3D.

I have seen lots of car racing simulators, flight simulators, but never a 3D Carriage simulator!

This one even simulates a real carriage racing course, so you can see just how good you are behind the reigns. I love unusual uses of technology like this, good work and congratulations to Alexander Nischelwitzer and his team.

3D Kutschensimulator

Für das Bundesgestüt Piber wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit der Firma MTC ein 3D Kutschensimulator entwickelt. Damit ist es möglich durch eine steirischen Herbstlandschaft mit einer Kutsche und zwei virtuellen Lipizzanern zu kutschieren. Für die Installation wurde eine normale Kutsche und als Interface "normale Zügel" verwendet. Bei der Realisierung wurde auf eine realistische Reaktion der Pferde wert gelegt.

Der 3D Kutschensimulator wurde um eine Münzzahlfunktion erweitert. Dabei bekommen die Besucher im Gestüt Piber zum Eintritt auch einen Jeton für die Benutzung. Sollten weitere Simulationsfahrten gewünscht sein, erlaubt die Applikation auch das Spielen per 1€ Münzen.

Der Kutschensimulator wurde in weiterer Folge noch um eine Kutschenrennstrecke erweitert. Damit hat der Besucher nun auch die Möglichkeit sich mit anderen Besuchern in Kutschenrennen zu vergleichen. Als Kutschenrennbahn wurde die echte Rennstrecke in Pieber 3D nachgebaut und simuliert.
