This clip is from Joe Clinton's talk on "R. Buckminster Fuller's Synergetic 'Jitterbug:' its fascination and some challenges" at the Synergetics Collaborative's special session on Buckminster Fuller's Synergetics and Mathematics at the 2008 Spring Eastern Meeting (#1036) of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at New York University (15 March 2008).

154 MB Quicktime

The Synergetics Collaborative's Special Session on Buckminster Fuller's Synergetics and Mathematics convened 12 papers on mathematics related to Fuller's work. The full schedule with links to abstracts of all papers are available at
http://SynergeticsCollaborative.org/schedule.mar.2008.html

The Synergetics Collaborative (SNEC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizing events for anyone with an interest in learning about or building upon Buckminster Fuller's Synergetics. See our website for more information:

Video producer: The SNEC/Acevedomedia Team Thanks to all of the volunteers from the Collaborative for their work on the cameras!

Video Editor: Victor Acevedo, Digital artist and Visual Music producer/director. A member of the Synergetics Collaborative and a long-time student of RBF and Synergetics. Recently he's been working with Collaborative member Thomas Miller on his Newtools project.

  • This is the first use of computer graphics to do something that is significant that I encountered. It also discards cartesain mathematics. I wonder what does he mean when he says "I studied this", "I studied that".

  • @Israe5l I suspect the graphics in the video do use cartesian math. Even mathematics uses many coordinate systems (barycentric, homogeneous, spherical, cylindrical, polar, etc). I think more coordinate systems should be introduced earlier in schooling.

Joe Clinton will be speaking and attending the November symposium (see our web site), you can attend and ask him to elaborate on the parts you found interesting.

  • can no one go from a tetrahedron to a dodecahedron without a 3 dimension shape going to a 2 dimensional shape and then back to a 3 dimensional shape?

  • I wish to comment on Koski's youtube but he has 0 views, zero, subscribers, zero comments,

the same way -S- is zero , in the realm of academia so hard to fight a nonexistent icon.

  • You guys have some insane members, Koski is apparently on some addictive medications, even the synergeo members have noticed, every comment this clown claims is never about geometry, since he screwed up -S- even more than it was , this guys is using personal attacks as if it is geometry. We will be watching, the future of -S- is sealed it is done. -S- have failed.

  • I don't even know how I ended up watching this 0_o

  • Hey CJ so did you finally figured out what is 8/9 or 9/8 in conversion means? do you now know what this mean or you guys still only now try to croak the elementary aspects of formulas.

If you guys collaborating commonly on a idea can any one commonly figure this out or it will remain fuzzy for another decades to come. Kirby now understands, why you guys are not collaborating why this crucial part is not croaked before you go further in to a fog. Unity = 1 do you guys got that. Kirby knows ask

  • @SynergeticsCollab The reason I share the video comments so someone else may comment, to decipher synergetics. Many of the ideas should be solved long long time ago, you guys lost the momentum decade s ago. I lost my patience have to go on, have no time to snail pace any more, life is short and I have tons of work, but I help to, comment, or suggest as we go on. I think you should talk to other folks than just Kirby he will ignore facts as that is his way of doing geometry of thinking.

  • @ElusiveCube There are many ways to collaborate. Individualistic cut-throat market capitalism is a form of collaboration. Also, kumbaya and forms of socialism as you point out. War is even a form of collaboration of sorts. Collaboration can be complex; it can take many forms. The technology used for collaboration matters. Collaboration can embrace differences including different interpretations. Sometimes it covers up differences with "collective thinking". We are both correct on this.

  • @ElusiveCube Frank, it's me CJ Fearnley who maintains the SynergeticsCollab account.

I do not think this video's comments is the appropriate place to discuss your cosmic hierarchy. I am on a long term project to try to understand Fuller's and your cosmic hierarchy. I want to understand the differences. But I am not currently able to follow your arguments. Repeating them is not really helping me. I need to work through this on my own a bit more. Then I'll ask you questions.

  • @SynergeticsCollab Synergetics is more catrtesian squares and cubes. 8/9 or 9/8 eight is a cube number 9 is a square number. Zubek's system 6/8, six is a triangular number, 8 is a cube number . I'm more triangular than Fuller, but the general consensus somehow don't see this.

  • @SynergeticsCollab Who specifically from the synergetics collab. is communicating with me, I would like to see a name. Who is responding to my letters, who is doing this correspondence. I'll hope I don't see a slogan "All for one and one for all" Need a NAME.
