I also HATE Furby, thank god I never had one. I like the bit where you made it beep, I also like the bit where the LED flashed on after you reset the bastard. Controlling your Furby from your PC must be a lot of fun, does the program run under Windows or DOS? You should be able to buy IR ports that connect to a USB port on a modern PC and conform to the IRDA standard as it looks as if your old laptop does.

@themaritimeman Video cameras can "see" infrared light, try this. Get your DVD player or TV's remote control, if you have a digital camera or camcorder turn it on and point the IR LED at the lens, then look at the viewfinder as you press the buttons on the remote control and you should see the LED flashing rapidly, I've done it before.

Wow, that's really neat! I just found a Baby Furby in my fathers old house, so I'll have to try out that stuff!
Whoa… I actually see light coming from your Furby's IR transmitter - was that for real, or is it just your camera somehow picking it up?
Great video!

Your making plague carrying furbys? Shame on you.....
Seriously though, this is fascinating.. I can really see the potential for wireless triggering of furby sounds for musical purposes.
Did you ever figure out what the furby was transmitting?
