  • Megasquirt V2.2 hardware - Ford EDIS - Yamaha R6 throttle bodies - JAW Wideband - The engine is pretty much standard apart from a modified sump and ARP bolts on flywheel and rod ends

    Running the MS Extra firmware

Got a neat device recently that will allow spark cut for EDIS (for launch control / flat shift and rev limiting purposes) from Autosport Labs (Brent Picasso Megajolt)

I will eventually get round to builiding it and testing it as I am not keen on having fuel cut only for rev limit

  • Hi!

Nice one - I really like the looks of a Zetec inside an Irmscher 7 :)

But do you really use carbs on the engine? Or did you modify the carbs to act as regular throttle boddies with injection nozzles?

    Sounds awesome as well!

    Best regards

  • @McNugget6750

Throttle bodies are from Yamaha R6, they look like carbs and have the plastic slides have the injectors underneath (making them look just like carbs!)

    Go for it :-)

  • ive done a focus st170 on megasquirt and gsxr throttle bodies im having trouble fine tuning it as i never had a base map to start from could you send me an image of your ve, afr and ignition advance tables it would help me out alot wot happened to the megasquirt maps site is it coming back?

  • @celestialthought

Would have thought the ST170 engine quite different in requirements as well as the injectors being quite different, so best starting from what you have already TBH

I did notice that even the 2 (supposedly the same) silvertop 2000cc's were quite different in what they required fuelling wise

get a wideband and tinker away, follwed up by a rolling road session to make sure you are staying safe :-)

    Good luck

  • hello can u please give me a base map for megasquirt on zetec? as the megasquirtmaps website is down

  • I assume you now have a working base map?

If not send me a message and I'll send my current one :-)

  • Hello ! Nice !!

See my porting of Cosworth/Zectec syl head. + other car`s

    JVB.

  • What software/ hardware are you using?

  • Just done a dyno shootout, got 120 at the rear wheels...so assuming 20% loss ...about 145 at flywheel?

Was happy with the result, esp as I now know my fuelling goes very weak just after 3,500 rpm, so got a bit more to wring out of it with some more mapping :-)

Not bad considering they are only 132PS when fresh from the factory if the literature is to be believed

(1bhp=0.987ps) so I am chuffed I got it to more than Ford could when new despite it being waay lean just as the power starts to climb!

  • result sounds pukka im using zetec 2.0 upto 150bhp now :) wot sort of power should yours produce on tb's ?
