we were there when it happened..if we made an assault 30min earlier..I won't be here on YouTube typing this infos..

We saw the body of the dead mountaineer..and tried to avoid the ABS-CBN media on our way out after that incident..

It was a very sad day..

I feel you. Mang Wilson, one of the caretakers, narrated quite vividly what happened that fateful day.

And ironically, just the night prior to our trek, he said that they (he and his son) had to go to the hinterlands at 9pm to search for five lost hikers. Fortunately they were found, albeit tired and dehydreated, under good weather conditions that night.

take good care,,some mountaineers died there last year..don't underestimate mother nature..follow your instincts..goodluck!

And also...first-time visitors to the place have to understand that hiking to Anawangin may seem a breeze...but it is otherwise. It is also advisable to hire a guide...and importantly, wear hiking or outdoor footwear.

may daan pala directly in anawangin thru land travel???? kasi we went in Anawangin thru boat ride from Pundakit kasi we checked in in a Hotel....

@cutejapogi To answer...I don't think so as the slope would be too steep for wheeled vehicles. Riding horse-back across the mountain will be possible though cumbersome for the equine.
