You know, you're an excellent trumpet player, but you're not playing this like baroque. You need to think not only of the style, but also of its origins as a string/harpsichord piece. Altogether the trumpet playing is good, but the style leaves me wanting. There is music on the trumpet that is not bombastic. =P

Great playing!

Oh wow, i play baroque (I'm a cellist) and I swear I thought I'd hate this vid, but it's amazing! You guysare good, and this particular concerto really sounded good for brass.

vivaldi wrote it, i think it was a string piece, i never heard that original version. then bach later did an arrangement of it for harpsichord, adding his more ornamental style. i however heard the german brass' version first, which is an arrangement of bach's version. i always wanted to play it but couldn't find the music anywhere so i got many of the ideas by listening to their cd and arranged it myself to fit a smaller ensemble. thanks for listening, i am glad you like it!

This is what i don't like about american brass playing, everything is perfect but so heavy! that's what i love about european brass playing, everything flows an you don't feel like there's a hughe elephant chasing you.

i actually totally agree... i have been trying to get that sound only recently and am finding it very difficult! i also love the german articulation which even in quick passages seems to be light and almost have no articulation at all, but still has clarity.
anyway, thanks for the comment.
