  • This is awesome! where in the world did you find it?

  • I saw this production several times. GREAT cast except hat Laurence Guittard was way too old to play Curly but sang wonderfully. . Andreas's review in The New York Times is one of the finest reviews I have ever read for a performer. Martin Vidnovic, Christine Ebersole and Harry Groener were perfection. The show only lacked production values. It look like a modest road company.

  • @bangbgood well i mean like short and sepertated. not the best speller here XP

  • Laurence Guittard had the best voice in the cast. No one has sung Curly better. I like that Laurey is a brunette in this production. I saw it three times, all the leads, including the marvelous Harry Groener were working as an ensemble and none of them stole the show.

  • @sarahsmartypants No, she's singing the song as written. The flat tone and belting is intentional. Not sure what "sticotoed" means.

  • Ebersole is a fine singer but her voice isn't right for purely classical singing, especially Mozart. That's why she was dubbed.

  • @CoExGal For her comic chops, maybe? I don't know. But they had actors stand in for all the singers in the film -- those aren't Sam Ramey, Felicity Lott, and Richard Stillwell in the Figaro and Don Giovanni clips.

  • @90lysander

Wow--thanks for checking. So then, why would they even use her in Amadeus, only to dub her voice? I don't get it.

  • @CoExGal I just checked up on it, and everything I can find says she was dubbed by Suzanne Murphy. This makes sense, as Neville Marinner used classical/opera singers in all the other segments, too. Being able to sing Guinevere and being able to sing Constanze are two very different things.

  • @90lysander

I don't know why she should be dubbed in Amadeus, if she sang the lead in Camelot with Richard Burton? . Where did you hear that?
