its only a "disaster" from the perspective of those who actually believe the propaganda, that we went there with benevolent intentions--to "liberate" iraq."
either way, the US will not leave until their dominance in the region is secured, with a puppet gov, oil contracts, the population divided and conquered, etc.
its just sad that the so called "anti-war" and "pro-war" have melded together in acceptance of imperialism.....as the "responsible" thing to do.

Seems more likely about Jews crippling Irans growth by limiting energy output. Iran has no oil refineries, all exported. They have an energy crisis. Notice that Israel and Cheney never suggest they buy our windmills and trade oil for natural gas.
It's about limiting Iran's future economy and health, the Nuke bomb is overplayed like Saddam's WMD because the world would not support attacking Iran just to limit growth.

A 16 month exit schedule is several months before mid-term elections, 23 months is just before the mid-term elections. Dems can run on having gotten out while at 23 months its part of the election debate. Patreaus is trying to help the Republicans with the mid-term elections.
