This is a built 440 Blown Mopar, (Dyers 8-71 blower, Scat Forged Crank and rods, JE blower pistons, ported edelbrock heads, roller camshaft) this engine never quits making power, we wanted more over drive to see what this would do, but we ran out of pulleys.. At 12 pounds of boost this engine made 910 plus horsepower. We estimated with 15-16 pounds of boost this engine would have made well over 1000 hp...

  • Hi, I am trying to build a blown 440 engine and just wanted to know which rotating assembly did you go with for this? and which cc edelbrock heads did you go with?

    thanks

  • @Kalaek

We used a Scat Crankshaft, Scat connecting rods with ARP2000 Rod bolts, and custom JE pistons. Not sure on the heads. Give Jason a call 800-341-1528 he can sell you all the parts we used for this build.

  • Hmm well guess i was just thinking displacement :P my friends dad had a 8.8 liter Charger with King Demon Carbs it drank like a freaking fat alcoholic...

  • Why not King Demon carbs ?

  • Stock 440 block. Do you build many RB Mopars. Just curious as the mains are notorious for breaking caps. Did you install a BCR cap and Girdle setup or similar. What was the sonic test on the thrusts as 440's are often very thin. 800hp seems to be the limit of a two bolt RB. Do you build many high HP Mopars?

  • Engine will be going in a 68 Cuda

  • Thanks for the info. Seeing what you used its even more impressive. What's it going to go into? It'll be a fun ride for sure.

  • Scat 4340 3.750 crank, 6.760 H beam rods, JE 8.5:1 pistons, total seal gapless top rings, Edelbrock Performer heads with our stage 4 port job, blower intake was ported to match the heads. Custom roller camshaft in the mid 250s duration at 50. We used a stock 440 block, internal balanced the rotating assembly, Block was fully blueprinted, ARP main studs, Head studs. Comp Cams roller rockers. The blower was not stripped, but had tight clearances. We also used a pair of 750 AED Blower carbs.
