Just my opinion, but I miss the 'depth" of the original in this version.

I think communism can work as written, but only for small communities, not in superstates we have now. But, after setting up a stable and secure socialist system, gradual movement to smaller units that employ true communism could be possible, and just maintain unity as a sort of coalition of smaller communist states. Maybe....

Communism cannot work..and every country that has been under the rule of communism has been in poverty. Soviet Union, Vietnam,China,N. Korea,Cuba, ext.. And I will admit, the American system has had its failures, yet we always get back on our feet. Although I am not a supporter of the Federal-Republic system.. I do have some aspects of it. I find it hard to imagine what might be "personal freedom" for an unemployed who is hungry and not able to find job. True freedom is only where the exploitation is destroyed, where is no oppression of man by man, where no unemployment and poverty, where people do not tremble that tomorrow thay may lose their jobs, housing and bread. Only in such a society can be a real, not paper, personal and every other freedom.
