And now, we present a very refined and dignified pony music video, for all your cultured and sophisticated tastes...

[](/b32 "JUST KIDDING!") [](/rb32 "I posted Spike Jones!")

Gettin' back to my roots! It's about time I put together another Spike Jones PMV, and this one happens to be my all time favorite song of his "Cocktails for Two". By far this is the most complicated and time intensive PMV I've ever put together. The effort that was necessary is masking alone was mind boggling, and I shudder to think of how much MORE time I would've had to put in if it weren't for After Effects and the amazing Rotobrush. This monster clocked in at 1.5 GB before compression processing, and crashed Final Cut Pro more times than I can count.

But it was FUN! I hope you enjoy it, and that it brings a smile to your face.

As always, I do NOT own the music or the footage in this video. Them music is "Cocktails for Two" by Spike Jones. All video footage is the property of Hasbro, who own My Little Pony in its entirety. I just put these things together to make silly videos, so everyone can enjoy a little laugh. I hope this is all under fair use, and that Hasbro doesn't take down my videos (pretty please?)

Take care everypony! Snivian, away!

  • I'm still learning the ropes with Sony Vegas and I have one question: I'll take falling Applejack as an example here. Do you have to mask her frame by frame to get the result as in the video, or is there an easier way to do it? But back to the video, I absolutely loved it! Looked at your other videos and I must say, you earned my sub.

  • @Nace369 First, thanks for the kind compliment on the video, and for subbing! In reply to your question, I used to do things frame-by-frame, but it was SO time consuming that a video like this would've been nearly impossible. What I've been using instead is the rotobrush tool in Adobe After Effects CS5. It's not nearly as "clean" as manually doing every frame, but it gives decent results with a bit of effort.

  • [](/colgate"That was amazing!") [](/a13"Though I dare not imagine all the masking you must have had to do.")

You've never made a less than stellar video before, Snivi, but WOW, you really delivered on this one! The timing, the syncing, the masks...everything was fantastic! I'm just totally blown away. [](/b12 "Also, I think you've made a Spike Jones fan of me.")

  • @churrocam [](/b36 "Ohmigosh!") Thank you again, Churro! You're the best!

  • YOU

are my god. goddess. deitythingy. Every time you get Spike Jones in your hooves the result is golden, and by far my favorite video this month by a long shot.

  • @mmmandarinorange Oh my sweet Celestia! A comment like this coming from you?! I nearly fell out of my chair! Thank you so, so, SO much for the kind words!

  • Interestingly enough, one of the composers of this song, Sam Coslow, HATED Spike Jones version-- but he still made massive royalties after it beacme a major hit. Ungrateful foal.

  • Ah this is amazing! Liked and subbed for sure!

  • Warped... totally warped. What's even more amazing, is how it matches in many areas the original video by Spike Jones, which you can view here on YouTube. Be afraid, be very, very afraid!

  • @MustrumRidcully Lol you don't have to call yourself a brony unless you want to. :D

  • @SnivianMoon Thanks for taking your time to answer my question, this'll help me out alot. I never really use After Effects, so little could I know about the tools it has. I'll definitely start learning to work with After Effetcs as I'm sure it'll proof to be quite a valuable asset for future projects. No seriously, thank you for helping me out.
