@truesemite And when did this become a religion thing? I mean, you were talking about coffee and arabic and then suddenly you, an atheist, started calling religious people "pagans". I mean, technically, aren't the non-religious supposed to be the pagans? Isn't that the point? That seems pretty backwards to me...

I have some problems with this show
1 It is based upon a flawed concept of human origin
2 Inventing languages similar to other languages gets nothing done
3 These people are not "In search of the first language"
4 I heard more about a contrived language than Sumerian, Egyptian, and the like
This is not a sociological study. It's a linguistic study. Hit the oldest manuscripts available and then inform us.
No more half-baked half-truths.

Ok, I understand that the story of Babel, a Biblical story, is unproven, but I think saying it is "like all myths" and that it contains "a germ of truth" is a bit harsh, am I right? I mean, they could have been a little more respectful and at least said something like "Although disputed, the story of Babel has some evidence on it's side". And @truesemite ...ouch.

@truesemite @truesemite Could not agree more XD Like most danes i am an atheist, I think it is funny to see how people seriously can argue, what we need more religion in our goverment. Despite that we see in history, that the more a goverment is religious, the more horrible and totalitarian it is. Try to youtube search for "Advice god", and choose the one which has a drawing if a male head with gray beard, I'll think you will find it funny, It is about the abrahamic God ^^
Interresting. In germanic we have the following obvious cognates
*kuna (woman) = Old norse: kona (woman)
*mano (man) = Proto germanic: *mannaz < proto indoeuropean: *manos (human, man)
*hulo (hole) = danish: hul (hole)
*akwa (water) = Gothic: ahwa (water)
*mako (son) = proto norse: magu (son, young boy)

@RavenofDenmark haha Ahwa sounds like coffee in my mother langauge arabic "Kahwa". actually i like nordic culture, specially the old myths like Valhalla. since i'm an atheist i love any pagan myths because they are interesting and joyful to read without the psychotic episodes of the god of Abrahamic religions, who basically kills for fun in his myths and then the people who manifested this "God" do it for real !

@BestfriendKara If you want to be killed because you find this uninteresting you can always watch Lady Gaga or something on that range.
