This is the hilarious 1980 hit novelty song from Ray Stevens. It tells the story of an annual Shriner's convention attended by members from Hahira, Georgia. The song tells of the various activities of the Shriner's (parades, dinners, etc) and the inability of one member (Coy) to exhibit proper behavior, much to the annoyance of his "Illustrious Potentate" (Bubba). And, of course, on-screen lyrics.

  • @Pygar2 Good point!!

  • @BenAliGtor Could be worse- could have stayed a left-wing one. If you're not a leftist when you are young, you have no heart, and if you're still one as an adult- you have no brain.

  • The fun part is that Ray Stevens was a Shriner when he wrote this song.

  • Back before Ray Stevens became a right wing jerk.
