Album: Spring (1971)

Too bad the album art is so blurry. That's a soldier, dead in the trenches.

  • i used to watch this band in leicester when they were called "The Sissy"

They played the Counry Arms along with Art with John Deacon from Queen and Pesky Gee! later to become Black Widow

    great fun

    Clive Jones x Black Widow

  • The singer went on to produce some of Robert Plant 's solo work.

If you like their album, you'll love the cd on repertoire which contains some amazing tracks for teir 2nd lp which of, was never released.

  • I gave this album away. Haven't heard it for maybe 30 years, but it's instantly familiar, particularly the mellotron and vocal. Classic prog.

  • when i bought this album , with bonus ,about 15 years ago i couldn´t believe...oooh man , what the sound is this!!?? unbelievable...a great band with very cool sound...unique. then i try to discover more about this guys , about others records...and a surprise..someone sad to me that had jus one...the one!! after that, i´ve been knowing about the second , with some new musics....thanks for the informations from south brazil.( sorry the poor english )

  • Not a soldier in the 'trenches', but a Victorian soldier from Zulu Wars ilk (wrong helmet), dead in a stream...with band on the far bank looking on...

Spring are Great! I have both albums.

  • Spring is ( for me they never was) one of the best prog rock band ever .

try to hear that sound --- awesone, incredible etc. etc.

  • The album photo was taken somewhere a few miles from Rockfield Studios on the River Monnow near TrIgate Bridge.

  • No Pat died 8th Jan, his funeral was in Leicester a few weeks later. Rockfield Studios a song Pat produced up on facebook as a tribute.

    "New day" by Airwaves

The band was made up of lads who were regulars at the studio.

    Bone died some months before.

  • @wyeme50 hello, im sure Pat Moran passed away over 10 years ago ?? im sure it is Adrian (Bone) who died a few months back

    Clive / Black Widow

  • RIP Pat, thanks for everything

  • Sadly Rockfield Studios have announced that lead singer Pat Moran died last weekend, 8th Jan I think. He'd been ill for quite a while. So that's 4 of the guys who made up the Rockfield Studios Football team in 1973-74 who are no longer with us. Everyone around Monmouth of my generation knew "Spring" and Pat never left, he worked at the studios for years.

  • @drpesky

Hey there, I have all Black Widow albums though I am still 29 year - old....lol

Thank You very much for an 'occult' music
