In memory of the most important italian-american police agent, he fought against the mafia carrying out to his duty up to the end. I know, he isn't famous as well as Al Capone, Lucky Luciano etc. but this is because the stereotype and the ignorance of many people are very strong when one talks about the italian-american reality and about the mafia.

JOE PETROSINO was a great man and an inspiration to all Italian Americans. The only thing that commemorates his life is a drab little park on the lower east side of NYC, how sad.

Giuseppe Petrosino (detto Joe) nacque a Padula (SA) il 30.08.1860. Emigrò, giovanissimo, nel 1873 alla volta di New York col padre Prospero, sarto, e l'intera famiglia composta dalla madre, da due sorelle e da tre fratelli.
