This is a short documentary about Freddie, done for the 2007 Jerry Lewis MDA telethon, narrated by Bill Balleza of KPRC TV Houston. I never knew Freddie the way he was in all the other videos I've posted, but have had the honor of transferring his old VHS's to DVD, and gotten quite the history lesson. The Freddie you see in this documentary is the only one that I've ever known. He was just losing his ability to walk, in late '06. He's now weaker and thinner than when this was filmed, and can no longer hold his head up as well or speak as clearly, but he's still here and his spirit's pretty big. For more info on ALS, go to the MDA's ALS division web site at http://www.als-mda.org/ or the ALS Association's web site at http://www.alsa-houston.com/
Keep sending Freddie those prayers.

  • Freddie:

I've finally found you! I'm praying for you everyday! You are by far the best guitar player and most talented singer/songwriter I know and I thank God I had the opportunity to work with you! I'm still listening to your CD's and watching those old videos.

    Love ya always,

    Laurie

  • Freddie - I can't watch this video without crying. I'm sitting here at my desk, CRYING, because you can't play.

I want you to know that I pick up my Fender and I play EVERY TIME I hear your music. (I have all your CD's) You are one of the most bombastic and jaw-dropping performers I have ever seen and I will never forget the 20+ times I've seen you live.

    Thank you so much.
