@DjangoBooks Thanks for the info. I've noticed that people tend to go pretty light with the strings. However, I didn't know if that was tone reasons, or just not wanting to put that much tension on a delicate expensive instrument. I'm going to try the 12s when you get them in... A. because my guitar is a Chinese-made piece of crap, and B. because of the aforementioned down-tuning. Cheers.

Hum you can really hear the "caisse de resonance" (I don't know the word in english)
I have a MD-50 by Maurice Dupont since 2004 and I'm really happy about it, but my dream one day would be to have a Selmer...
I should sell my car, ride a bike and buy this one...

I want to sell up, buy a camper van, this guitar and a gun to protect my investment....Sleep with one eye open........
Come on Euro Millions, just $36000 please!!!!
How about a video about the different gypsy jazz strings that you sell?
I'm curious as to what silk & steels bring to a Maccaferri-type guitar. And what is the deal with loop end vs. ball end. And would 12s be good on a Petite-Bouche guitar tuned down to D-Standard... which brings me to my question.
When are you going to have some more Lenzner Fisoma Silk and Steel Gypsy Jazz 12 - 50s?

@Hoopermazing
I may do that at some point but it would be pretty difficult to hear the subtle differences between strings on the video. For many people, strings are as much about feel as sound. Of course you can't "feel" the string on a vid either. And a lot of what makes a string work is the individual technique of the players as well as the particulars of the guitar you put them on. So there's many variables...

There's no difference between loop and ball end. Some find loops easier to get on and off.
Maybe if you tune your petite bouch down 12s would work. Generally you would never put strings that heavy on a Sel/mac. I just ordered more Lenzners...will have more 12 soon!
