@EminemShit but 04-present about 40% of what he spits is amazing (if that). He shows flashes still no doubt (The Warning, BET Cyphers, Westwood Freestyles, 3-4 dope tracks on Encore, Relapse, and Recovery and some features), but top to bottom he's nowhere near 97-02 and he's damn near admitted as much. "I've had to learn to rap, flow, write, perform all over again, this time w/ no what I like to call creativity drugs to help like weed and alchohol"

@EminemShit Infinite has some tight tracks too like Infinite, It's Okay but as a whole is not near his 97-02 best ish....Too bad drugs/fame/personal tragedy got to him b-c 97-02 almost 100% of what he spit was AMAZING (even the interscope mandated radio tracks like Without Me, Real Slim Shady, and My Name is had some ill multies in them w/ solid flow)

@EminemShit 97 is mos def one of his illest no doubt about it (Murder Murder, Low Down Dirty especially), Wake Up Show appearances, underground tracks w/ dudes like Skam, Outsidaz, etc, but It's hard to call it his best year ever when you look @ 98(year he won Wake Up Show Freestyler of the year and when he wrote most of one of the best lyrical albums ever SLIM SHADY LP as it came out in early 99), 99, 2000, 2001, and 2002.
Him @ his absolute rawest may be 97-2000, but 97-2002 is all dope

@jay58oconnor6 Agreed.... Eminem's best year was 1997. He exploded in 1997. He stepped it up so much that year. Both artistically and as far as going all out to get a deal. This is the REAL Slim Shady.
