    I remember one photog from the Philippines having the same experience, and everytime he takes a picture, there were a lot of PINK DOTS/STUFF on every image.

    "You need to concentrate the sunlight of a 40mm diameter circle in order to burn something. So immediately, we can see that damage only occurs with lenses of 50mm or larger. Next, to get the effective diameter of your diaphragm, you must divide your focal length by the aperture setting. So if you have a 105mm lens at f/5.6, then your effective diaphragm opening is just under 19mm. That’s not enough to cause damage to the sensor.In short, u need a fast, long lens in order to cause damage." ;quote
