The Catholic Church, committed to the teachings of Jesus and stretched out in imitation of his love for each person feels profound compassion for the victims of the holocaust. These were the words of the Pope during his visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem.The Church stands beside all those who today are subjected to persecution due to their race, color, condition of life or religious faith. Their sufferings are hers and hers are their hopes for justice.
