I have the same question as mrdistraction deos the stick really only move that much?...

Yes - the reason is because it's a "fly by wire" control system - meaning it's electronic rather than mechanical. It's the same principle as using a joystick on a PC with MS Flight Simulator software.
When you move the stick it sends a signal to a computer which then moves the flight control surfaces rather than having actual cables connected directly to the control stick itself.
