  • every anzac morning dad wakes me and my brothers up we get dressed warm and head to the war memorial to par hommage to the boys of both wars so that we never ever forget not that i would

  • I was there on that day! Every ANZAC day is a pride swelling day, If only to remember those that made OUR peace possible. As one American WWII veteren once said "The Real Heroes are those that were buried over there (overseas) and those that came home to be buried."

  • Let us also remember the cowards. My mother's family were conshies and noncoms and therefore called cowards. They all joined the medical corps. My uncles were still fired at. My mother had to patch up badly wounded USMCs and my auntie was a war editor and correspondent. The whole thing about cowardice has to be faced.

The real cowards were those "ladies" who handed out the feathers. They even handed them out to my dad. They had no intention of going.

The whole thing makes me sick.

  • Those heroes who shed their blood and lost their lives, you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. therefore rest in peace. there is no difference between the johnnies and the mehemets to us where they lie side by side in this country of ours.

you, the mothers who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears, your sons are now lying in our bosoms and are in peace. after having lost their lives on this land they become our sons as well.
