When Xserves attack !!! ... Good thing we made an enclosure for that wild Apple server. We put a glass front door on our enclosure so you could view the wild Xserve in its natural environment while visitors stay safe behind the locked door LOL

Fan control should be built into the BMC firmware of the server. I've never been impressed with Apple server gear. I have a Dell Poweredge R300 1U server at my home and it stays quiet all the time while running. Only gets loud at first boot or if there is a fault, which I have never experienced.

The warning light can be manually turned on by pressing the warning button. i say this because of what you said with carmaniac225

@Testbuildlabs I posted this as a joke, but I can assure everyone that this was a legitimate hardware issue. If I were going to "fake" something, it would have involved something far more suggestive (penile and/or vaginal in origin). JFC - a blower failure in the fan array and the system compensated in a bizarre way. I was mildly amused then simply replaced the array. All is well. No hairdryer trickery.
